Decimal System
China was the first country in the world to adopt the decimal system. For ease of writing , it gradually became a circle. later , the method of using a blank for 0 spread to Cambodia, from which it whet to India and other place across the world.
Negative Numbers
As early as the 2nd century BC, China had already recognized and began to use negative numbers. They believed that the incoming and outflow of the same amount of money meant different things. So they used red to indicate positive numbers and black to indicate the negative numbers. Rules were also developed to govern the addition and subtraction of negative numbers, eight to nine centuries before the West.
Multiplication Table
The earliest mathematical table in Chinese history is the multiplication table. The table was already in general use during the Spring and Autumn Period. It also appears on some bamboo slips from the Western Han Dynasty.
